Five Finger Adventures, Book 3 was composed as a set of etudes for mid-intermediate piano students. As with all of my works, these pieces are rooted in my teaching and have developed from my experiences in lessons. While pianistic technique is extensive and requires lifelong cultivation, these short works are designed to address only some specific technical skills.
It is my hope that these pieces, along with my other compositions, will help prepare students for the true masterworks of composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, and Chopin. I look forward to the continued creativity in my teaching that will inspire new music.
I hope you find these pieces both enjoyable and beneficial in your practice. The ultimate goal of strong technical skills is to enable the pianist to achieve greater precision, expressiveness, and imagination in service of the music.
